Teaching and Learning Governance Subcommittee
The Teaching and Learning Subcommittee is part of a broader Technology Governance framework.
The Teaching and Learning Subcommittee provides strategic oversight of the university’s instructional and learning technologies, ensuring they align with academic and pedagogical priorities. It brings together academic leaders, faculty and IT partners to set priorities, review proposals and identify emerging needs. The group serves as a key governance body that guides investments and decisions impacting teaching, learning and student success.
The subcommittee will work alongside the Teaching and Learning Technology Leadership Table, a collection of IT leaders who are tasked with providing the technical capabilities to meet the committees goals.
Over time, the committee will:
- Ensure that instructional technology strategies and priorities align with the university’s academic mission and teaching, learning and student success goals.
- Enable collaborative engagement of deans, other academic leaders, faculty, students and technology providers in shaping instructional technology directions.
- Recommend, rationalize and provide guidance on instructional technology investments and their impact on pedagogy and learning outcomes.
- Review and advance proposals for instructional technology services and initiatives to the Executive Committee.
- Support the identification and management of risks related to instructional technologies, including accessibility, equity and security.
