Building a stronger foundation for IT decision-making
Changing how we work is a central theme of Boldly IT. A cornerstone of that change is a new IT governance model—one designed for shared decision-making, clear direction-setting and coordinated investment across the university.
Our approach brings together executive stakeholders, faculty, researchers, innovators, and service providers to shape a unified technology strategy. Organized around key IT subdomains—such as teaching and learning, research support, and data/AI—the model ensures each area receives focused attention and expert guidance.
The Technology Governance framework includes an Executive Committee and several portfolio-specific subcommittees.
- The Executive Committee provides institution-wide leadership and strategic oversight, aligning technology investments with university priorities.
- Each subcommittee (for example, the Teaching and Learning Subcommittee) brings together domain experts to guide strategy, review proposals, and identify emerging needs within its area.
Together, the Executive Committee and subcommittees form a governance structure that ensures technology decisions are strategic, collaborative, and aligned with the university’s goals.
